Star Trek Online: Delta Rising re-visits the Voyager cast today

The cast of Star Trek: Voyager thought they had left the Delta Quadrant behind, but the new Delta Rising expansion for Star Trek Online means they're back in action.

Even in the wake of the J.J. Abrams films, there are still many stories to explore in the prime Star Trek universe. And yes, those a chunk of those stories take place in the Delta Quadrant, made famous by Star Trek: Voyager. Today, Star Trek Online officially returns to the Delta Quadrant with the new Delta Rising expansion.

The expansion is set 32 years after the events of the original Voyager television series and sends crews through the Iconian gateway leading to the perilous Delta Quadrant. Crews will be helped along by much of the original Voyager cast. Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Robert Picardo (The Doctor), Garrett Wang (Harry Kim), Ethan Phillips (Neelix), and Tim Russ (Tuvok) all return to reprise their roles, with Tuvok having taken the helm as captain of the Starship Voyager.

Delta Rising will up the player cap to 60, opening up new chips, gear, and officers. It will also re-introduce classic species like the Talaxians, Ocampans, Kazon, and Vaadwaur.

Star Trek Online is free-to-play, as is the Delta Rising expansion. The full Operations Pack is also available on the Star Trek Online website for a hefty price.
