Super Smash Bros. players who consider themselves to be the best fighter on their block will be able to take their skills to their local GameStop stores in order to take any and all comers in a special Super Smash Bros. 3DS national tournament.

On October 4, 15 GameStop stores in the US as well as the Nintendo World store in New York City will host local tournaments for Super Smash Bros. 3DS. Participants for the 64-player local tournaments will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis with no pre-registration required. Fighters can bring their own Nintendo 3DS or NIntendo 2DS to partake in the tournament and their own copy of Super Smash Bros. 3DS, but participants won’t be required to do so.

Winners of each local tournament will win a trip to New York City to fight in the Super Smash Bros. 3DS National Open Tournament at the Nintendo World store on October 11. The tournament will be broadcasted live on Nintendo’s Twitch and YouTube channels starting at 6pm ET.

The winner of the tournament will win a trophy and a champion’s robe. Since this is Nintendo we’re talking about, we’re sure both the trophy and robe will be have some kind of video game theme.
