Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire continue to roll out new Mega Evolutions, prior to the remakes' November release date. In addition to unveiling three more Megas to look out for, The Pokemon Company also offered some more details about Groudon and Kyogre's Primal Reversion abilities and how exactly they'll affect the course of battle.

Just as in the original games, Groudon and Kyogre's abilities will affect the weather on the battlefield. However, Primal Groudon's Desolate Land and Primal Kyogre's Primordial Sea abilities will take their weather influences to the extreme, in the sense that they cannot be overriden. So inserting Pokemon that normally institute their own weather changes, such as Tyranitar or Abomisnow, will have no effect. Likewise, weather-changing moves like Sunny Day and Hail will also have no effect while Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre are on the field.

These abilities will also cause certain attacks to fail. For example, the trailer below will show Swampert's Hydro Pump attack evaporate, due to the extreme heat, essentially making Primal Groudon immune to water attacks. Similarly, Primal Kyogre's heavy rain will extinguish fire-based attacks.

New Mega Evolutions on display include Mega Camerupt, Team Magma leader Maxie's Pokemon of choice, which will enter battle with a new Sheer Force ability. Mega Sharpedo will be wielded by Team Aqua's Archie and will have the Strong Jaw ability, which ups the power of all biting attacks. Finally, there's the Psychic/Fighting-hybrid Mega Gallade, which gains a big increase in attack and speed stats, as well as the Inner Focus ability, which prevents flinching.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
