Kinect-enabled Gears of War RTS game footage sees the light of day
A video of the alpha build for Gears of War: Tactics was recently leaked showing the Kinect-controlled RTS in action.
The Gears of War franchise has been left in limbo after last year’s underperforming Gears of War: Judgment. There hasn’t been any official word on what we should expect from the next Gears of War, but a new video that was published on VGLeaks shows off what looks to be a strategy title that uses the Kinect as its main method of control.
In the two-minute video, we can see the game, which is called Gears of War: Tactics, in action. The game is viewed from a top-down perspective as players can command their squad across the map using gestures, which look to be pretty responsive in regards to what’s going on in the video.
Unfortunately, this leaked video may not be for an upcoming title as it was reportedly canceled two years ago when it was only in its alpha stage of development.
Considering we have yet to hear anything definite from Microsoft regarding a new Gears of War title, who knows if Tactics will ever see the light of day. Since Microsoft offers an Xbox One without its Kinect 2.0 bundled in, who even knows what the future of the console’s accessory may have.
