Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze in the works at WayForward

The Danger of the Ooze will shy away from beat-em-up fashion to focus more on a 2D exploration style of game. FINALLY.

As of late, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games haven't been that inspiring. The animation-style one Activision released for Xbox 360 and Wii last year left something to be desired, and the 3DS movie tie-in attempted to be Diablo but ended up being much, much more generic.

Luckily, the next great adventure from the Turtles looks to be way better, thanks to the involvement of WayForward, the developers of DuckTales: Remastered and Contra 4.

In Danger of the Ooze, the Turtles battle the evil Shredder once again, this time in events that span between season two and season three of the animated series. As before with other games, you'll be able to switch between all four Turtles on the fly, and use their special abilities as you battle your way through New York and Dimension X.

Best of all, though, the game has an entirely new format, one that's side-scrolling based, featuring an exploration system that has you seeking out new gear and powers. You'll still get to beat up enemies aplenty, but exploration adds a whole new level to the game. Think of it as the original TMNT game for NES, but without the suckiness...or dragging underwater level. Yes, dudes!

Look for Danger of the Ooze later this fall on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 3DS.

You better off getting TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled or the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade game.

Odd those guys are supposed to be a shop that makes these types of games all well.

Dude could you imagine that!! oh shit, I buy that in a second.

The sad thing is you can make insane looking 2D games(I will prove this shortly), there really is no excuse.

I guess it is a budget title...? who knows, games form the 90s in the arcade not in 3d but pure 2D looked way better than this.
