Nintendo's 'Amiibo' figures priced
The first line of 12 figures are now available for pre-order, and will start rolling out for several games this holiday season.
Nintendo has outlined its plans for its NFC 'Amiibo' figurines, including a price of $12.99 apiece.
The first run of figures will consist of a dozen characters: Mario, Peach, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Kirby, Fox, Marth, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer. To save you a moment of mental calculation, that means you'd pay just over $150 for the whole set. They're available for pre-order starting today.
Nintendo says it plans to integrate Amiibo functionality with a variety of games, including Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10, and Yoshi's Wooly World. Exactly how the figures will function with each of those will be revealed later. Super Smash Bros will be the first to use the figures, and Nintendo detailed at E3 how Amiibo will step in to fight for you and gain experience as it does.
