Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire adds Mega Slowbro

It has a face that just screams "Help meeeeeee!"

Slowpoke has always been somewhat of a sadder figure in Pokemon lore. If he didn't evolve into the mental superior known as Slowking, he was all-too-often relegated to his standard evolution: Slowbro. Slowbro would simply fall back on his hind legs after having his tail permanently clamped by a Shellder. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is writing the next chapter for the Slowpoke evolution, continuing the poor creature's carnivorous consumption.

This weekend, Nintendo officially pulled the curtain back on Mega Slowbro, the oblivious one's Mega Evolution. Mega Slowbro retains its Water/Psychic-type combination, while also gaining the tank-like ability known as Shell Armor, preventing critical hits. Combining its increased defense and special defense stats with moves like Amnesia and Withdraw, Mega Slowbro can go the long haul, further dragging out its abominable existence.
