Shadowgate is coming to PC and Mac on August 21, developer Zojoi announced today. It will release for iOS and Android sometime later this fall.

The reboot is borrowing liberally from its original Mac and NES counterpart, and a new trailer shows them side-by-side. You can even turn on a "Retro Mode" to see the graphics presented in 8-bit with the original Hiroyuki Masuno score. It's not entirely a remake, though, as it includes new puzzles, multiple difficulty levels, a new mapping system, cutscenes, an orchestrated soundtrack, and revamped visuals.
