Nintendo bringing tournaments and games to Comic-Con
Tournaments, anime, and a Smashing good time
Nintendo will be heading to San Diego Comic-Con next week to show off its latest games for Wii U and 3DS, and it has a few events planned for those who stop by its Gaming Lounge for good measure as well.
Several titles will be playable for 3DS and Wii U, including upcoming hits like Super Smash Bros. (both systems), Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy Curtain Call, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Skylanders Trap Team, Yoshi's Woolly World and others. Current releases will also be on hand, including indies like 1001 Spikes and the much-beloved Shovel Knight. The lounge will be located on the first floor of the Marriott Marquis & Marina hotel.
Nintendo will also host a special Mario Kart 8 online tournament with a bracket of 32 players, with the final eight moving into the next round. Players at home will also be able to get involved, as tournament codes and scheduling will be announced soon. All of the matches will be aired live on the Nintendo Twitch channel.
In addition, a Super Smash Bros. tournament will be held for 3DS, and challenges can come sign up on a daily basis.
Finally, the company will host a screening of FUNimation's forthcoming anime film, Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, on Friday, July 25th.
