Nintendo eShop weekly update: Shovel Knight, Castlevania III and discounts
Nintendo's eShop has plenty to choose from with the latest update.
It's very rare that we see the Nintendo eShop update have a "good week," since the dearth of quality releases are so few over the course of the summer. However, this week is an exception to the rule, as a few new games are available for download, while others are receiving noteworthy discounts.
Leading the pack is Shovel Knight, Yacht Club Games' retro-style platforming adventure, which is available for both Wii U and 3DS for $14.99 apiece. If you're a fan of 8-bit games of old, this is an absolute must. Be sure to check out our review if you need further proof.
In addition, two new Wii Sports Club activities, Boxing and Baseball, are available for play, going for $1.99 apiece for a one-day pass, or $9.99 apiece to unlock entirely.
Other games available for the Wii U include the sea combat game Monkey Pirates ($4.99), My Arctic Farm ($7.99), My Jurassic Farm ($7.99) and BrickBlast U ($3.99).
Konami has also released arguably one of the best Castlevania games on the Virtual Console service. Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is available for $4.99 each on both Wii U and 3DS. That means that if you want it on both, you'll have to buy them separately.
Also released for the 3DS are Cocoro: Line Defender ($4.99), Toy Stunt Bike ($4.99) Hidden Expedition Titanic ($5.99), Plain Video Poker ($1.99), and SKYPEACE ($.99).
Last but certainly not least, several titles are available for discount for the week. Ubisoft has marked down a number of its games for 3DS and Wii U alike, including several Tom Clancy games (ranging anywhere from $9.99 to $22.49) and Rayman games (like Rayman Legends, which can be yours for $20). In addition, Nordic Games has marked down Darksiders II to a very affordable $20.
Happy downloading!

Haha, that's funny. That's the version I played.
I sliced up an old copy of Excitebike to make a Famicom converter, modded my NES to play the extra sound channel, and bought CV3 for about $30 from http://www.japangamestock.com
totally worth it.
