Watch Dogs patch fixes corrupt saves, progression-breaking bugs

Watch Dogs is getting a new patch to fix some corrupt save issues, along with a number of PC-specific fixes and improvements.

Some Watch Dogs players may have found themselves stuck in the grid at some point during their playthrough. A major bug had been floating around since launch that prevented players from loading their save files, forcing them to start from scratch. Weeks later, a new patch is beginning to surface, which fixes this and a slate of other issues.

The patch, which will repair broken save files, is available now on PS4 and PS3. The PC version will be ready later this week, while a deployment date for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions has not yet been issued.

On top of fixing a number of progression-breaking bugs, the patch will also add a number of PC-specific fixes. The include graphical glitches on Low & Medium settings, crashes, and unspecified "performance improvements." These improvements more than likely don't involve turning on those gorgeous E3 2012 graphics, unfortunately.

The full list of fixes can be found on the Ubisoft forums. (via Polygon)

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
