Don't Starve! Is the Reign of Giants DLC worth it? Considering doing a 2 pack of the base + DLC with a friend.

Witcher 2 is definitely linear. It has branches, sure, but it's not an open world game where you do whatever you want. The story is static until you do the required thing, every time.

it's essentially 2 separate games after act 1. how is that linear?

a linear game with choices is still a linear game.

i guess we have different interpretations of what the word linear means then

Uh... if it has choices, it's by definition not a linear game.

The part about being linear or the part about being fun?

alot of fun, and you can get at least two play throughs out of it because of how the story is set up

I don't really like that mod. I played with it for a few hours and while some things are better too many things are made worse. He messed around with the skills and items too much for my liking :(

just my usual tip: go to $5 and under and $10 and under in the store. there are more games on sale and special than listed in the daily deals or flash sales. for instance, far cry: blood dragon is $3.74 right now and gone home is $4.99.

I love how Origin and Uplay do summer sales ahead of steam yet they have nothing good to offer. Steam is so ahead of the PC games market it's not even funny.

Yes, not sure if that is good or not though. Monopolies suck.

It's not a monopoly if you have competitors, even if those competitors suck.

Their sales are also a joke. I've yet to see more than 2 games at once on either service sell for under the $4.99 mark (not counting giveaways), whereas Steam has a permanent link showing games selling for under $5, which even outside of sales has literally hundreds of entries.

It's not looking too bad this time but Steam played off the massive popularity of their sales last time by offering poor discounts and not a great variety of games, and people didn't buy much. This time it looks like they've realised it's price that makes people buy things not the hype of there being a sale on.

The trick to the summer sale is not to buy things when they first go on sale at like 25% or so, but wait to see if there's a flash sale of something like 50-80% later. If you're interested in tracking when that happens, we made an app called Notivo that sends you a push notification when a particular game goes on sale. notivo.com/download
