Mutant Blobs Attack digests onto Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack has absorbed its way onto two additional platforms.

Normally, a giant gelatinous mass that consumes everything in its path would create a sense of horror (ever see The Blob?). However, with DrinkBox Studios' Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, we instead get a kitschy amount of sci-fi based platforming fun, as he jumps along walls, avoids dangerous obstacles and, well, eats everything. Now, the game, which originally debuted on PS Vita a while back, has arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as a downloadable title.

The game features 24 full game levels, along with bonus top-down stages and plenty of ridiculous mutant powers, including the ability to control platforms electrically and smashing through objects to find hidden goodies. For good measure, the 50's style music and visuals will definitely feel right at home with fans of the era.

"We've often been asked when we would bring Mutant Blobs Attack to new platforms and why we gave such a long and difficult title to what is otherwise an amazing game," said Ryan MacLean, co-founder at DrinkBox Studios. "We're excited to now offer the game to a whole new group of gamers and we're confident Mutant Blobs Attack will become their favorite gelatinous game as well. As for the title, we feel a short name would have been too easy." (Like The Blob?)

The game is available for $7.99 on both platforms, but those who purchased the Vita version can get the PS3 edition for cheaper, going for $3.99 as part of an upgrade bundle. This package comes with exclusive Avatars and themes, as well as the original soundtrack.
