This year's E3 marked one of the first opportunities for fans to go hands-on with Super Smash Bros. on both Wii U and 3DS. Has the wait been worth it so far? Shacknews' own Sam Leichtamer heads to the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center to get reaction from players fresh off their hands-on time with the new brawler from Nintendo. Check out their reactions after the break.

Before that, our Shacknews video crew had a chance to check out the Wii U version and get footage of a full match.

If you're looking to try out the new Super Smash Bros. for yourself, select local Best Buys should have the playable E3 demo available to the public right about now and again this Saturday.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I'm interested to know what some of the guys who played in the tournmant last night think. Several of them have won big tournaments. Its a good sign that nintendo invited them to play and not just average joe. I want something more like melee and less like brawl.

Has Shack ever considered being like CNN.com and have on the homepage a streaming feed called Shacknewslive that's silent but you can make it fullscreen and turn sound on. A daily streaming loop? CNN got that right. Put that lady to work.

With enough money, anyone can be like CNN.com

I'm not sure being like CNN is a thing which companies should aspire to.
