New DOOM teased, more info coming at QuakeCon
Bethesda has revealed the first teaser for an all-new DOOM game, with more information coming at this year's QuakeCon.
Remember pre-ordering Wolfenstein: The New Order and seeing something about a new DOOM beta? You probably asked yourself what that was referring to. Today, Bethesda answered those questions (sort of) with a new CGI teaser trailer, heralding an all-new entry to the DOOM series. However, those looking for any additional information will have to wait until QuakeCon 2014, when the publisher offers an official reveal of the series' next chapter.
No platforms were given, so look for that information to also be available at QuakeCon. Of course, given the history of the series, PC is pretty much a given.

Trent Reznor was originally helping Id Software with the sound and sound code on Doom 3. A number of engineering changes made it in, but partway through, Trent left because he wanted to work on his next album (at the time, it was "WIth Teeth"). You can hear a number of his sound effects in the leaked ATI demo from 2002; almost all (if not all) of those were replaced by sound effects and music by Xian, Ed Lima, and Chris Vrenna. There was some bad blood back then between Trent and Chris; IIRC, Trent badmouthed the Doom 3 title song by Chris Vrenna's band, Tweaker, as being a Lateralus ripoff (which it completely was; I replaced that in my Doom 3 install with filtered white noise).
