Destiny alpha begins Thursday, beta on July 17 for PS4 owners [Update]

Update: Sony is tossing in even more to their Destiny package. PlayStation owners will also get an exclusive Exodus map, as well as an exclusive Strike on Mars mission.

Original story: Sony kicked off their E3 2014 press conference by taking viewers onto the red planet of Mars. Sony revealed the newest trailer for Destiny, while revealing some new milestone dates. The game's beta will kick off on July 17 for PlayStation owners, while the alpha is set to kick off this Thursday for PS4.

Destiny's trailer revealed some new story details, revealing the game's main characters as the final guardians of light. The reveal was followed by some gunplay and vehicle-based combat. It's the most comprehensive look at the game's story and gameplay to date.
