Windows 8 gamers are getting some special love and attention from Microsoft. No, it's not another Halo: Spartan Assault. Instead, it's a full-blown cuteness assault with Kinectimals Unleashed.

Based on Xbox 360 Kinect game, Unleashed introduces a variety of virtual animals to Windows 8 computers and mobile devices, and it's free to download. In this game, you can choose from among 85 different animals to care for. These include dogs, cats, bears and tigers - all ready to walk, play, and do tricks. Unleashed also brings in 15 different puppy breeds along with various various activities and locations to visit. That way, you can have a pet without ever having to worry about the cleanup.
