Tales from the Borderlands screens show dialogue and cameos

The first batch of screenshots for Tales from the Borderlands showed up today, giving a better look at the art style, dialogue choices, and some notable series cameos.

Today Telltale Games released the first screenshots of its cross-studio project set in Gearbox's playground, Tales from the Borderlands. It looks, as you might imagine, a whole lot like the sketchy Borderlands art style, with a few clear signs of Telltale influence. Most obvious are the dialogue boxes, complete with a timer to answer. The faces look a bit more expressive too, which makes sense for a more story-driven Borderlands game. The full set of screens gives a better look at the dual protagonists, along with a few notable cameos from other games.

A dialogue prompt, you say?

  I anybody interested in this game? Maybe it's just that I'm not big on borderlands but I don't know anyone who is really into the borderlands lore. I could think of so many other franchises I would rather see take this route than borderlands.

    Could be fun. More so for what Telltale adds to it because it's a pretty wide open concept. Surely they can come up with some kind of story.

    Is Mr. Torgue in it? If so, I might give it a try. It seems like his shtick should get old, but for some reason I never got tired of him.

    Telltale is what interests me, if anything. I had very little interest in the walking dead either but they turned that into something pretty sweet.
