The first game from ID@Xbox, Microsoft's indie game publishing program for Xbox One, will be available tomorrow. Strike Suit Zero is a space combat game inspired by Wing Commander and Homeworld, with a suit designed by Appleseed's Junji Okubo. Originally released on PC earlier this year, the new console release is dubbed the "Director's Cut," as it adds new features based on feedback from the original
Although Strike Suit Zero is also launching on PS4 tomorrow, James Brooksby, CEO of Born Ready Games has nothing but kind words regarding the ID@Xbox program. "When we ramped up the team and needed more development kits, they bent over backwards to lend us their own kits to get the game to market on time," Brooksby explained on Xbox Wire. "They even offered us temporary office space when our offices flooded at Christmas!"
Brooksby also says that the console has been "easier than we expected" to develop on, and that Microsoft was "ready to help us with challenges at the drop of an email." Following tomorrow's launch of Strike Suit Zero, there are over two dozen more games announced for release through the ID@Xbox program.
