Nintendo is dipping its toe in the free-to-play market, first with Steel Diver: Sub Wars and soon with Rusty's Real Deal Baseball. Nintendo has announced that the F2P baseball mini-game collection will hit the 3DS eShop next week, on April 3.

Nintendo announced the release date via Twitter. As previously reported, it takes a fairly unique approach to the F2P model. The base cost will be $4 if you just want to buy one of the mini-games directly, but doing small tasks for Rusty the shopkeep will get you discounts that apply to the actual cost of the game.

Is that the sketchy rabbit character that was doing those eShop promos last year? I remember Jeff Gerstmann talking about some rabbit character that was acting like a used car salesman, offering a "sweet deal, just for you, and nobody else!", or something like that.
