Not a Hero is next game from OlliOlli dev, coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One
OlliOlli developer Roll7 has announced its next game: an isometric cover-based shooter called Not a Hero.
Updated with platform information.
Roll7, the creator of the skateboarding game OlliOlli, has announced its next game: an isometric cover-based shooter called Not a Hero. The announcement promises multiple playable characters and mission types revolving around a bizarre story.
"When an anthropomorphic rabbit/mayoral candidate from the future named BunnyLord needs a murderous loner to clean up the city during the election, Steve heroically offers up his dubious skills with a gun and lack of self-preservation instinct to this mysterious stranger from beyond," the announcement states. "Now Steve must clear five districts of crime and recruit new heroes for his cause by sliding, diving, ducking, and taking cover through hundreds of full-throttle shootouts across the city."
The various characters will apparently alter the gameplay pretty radically, as the announcement mentions shotguns, katana, or bare-handed bouts. A quick-snap cover system will let you hide from enemy forces as you plan your next move. The 2D isometric perspective will use ISO-Slant, a plugin for various engines that lets studios toy with 2D art.
Not A Hero will be hitting PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam and next-gen consoles in Fall 2014 and will have a playable alpha at PAX East.
