The Director's Cut of Strike Suit Zero won't make its planned March release, according to developer Born Ready Games. The mech-based space shooter will need about another week in the oven before arriving on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 8 with a $20 price tag.

The Director's Cut will feature a more streamlined campaign, re-recorded voice acting, restructured introduction missions, remodeled ships, enhanced textures and slightly overhauled artwork. Two new Strike Suits, the Marauder and the Raptor, will also make their debut.

A PC release date has not been given, but Born Ready did express interest in the platform, once the console versions have taken off. For more on Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut, check out the developer video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
