Amazing Spider-Man 2 video shows off PS4 gameplay
A walkthrough of some Amazing Spider-Man 2 gameplay shows some of the tweaks Beenox has made for this iteration, like revised web-swinging, new combat mechanics, and the ability to hang out in Peter Parker's room.
Beenox is getting to be an old hand at this whole "Spider-Man" thing. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be its fourth game starring the wallcrawler, so when the studio puts out a mission walkthrough trailer, the basics seem to be down.
A PS4 walkthrough posted on the PlayStation.Blog starts off by showing the new web-swinging mechanics, controlled with the left and right triggers to grip objects into the environment, then swings by Peter Parker's house to show his room as a mission hub. Creative director Thomas Wilson says they felt it was important to see the more human side of Peter. Then we enter a combat scenario, with a bunch of acrobatic flourishes and takedowns with wide-open environments to accommodate Spidey's style.
It's due on April 29, and pre-ordering gets you a set of four suits from his long comic history.
