Report: The Last of Us coming to PlayStation 4 this summer
According to PlayStation's Eurasian marketing manager, The Last of Us is coming to PS4 this summer.
The Last of Us is one of the most awarded games of the last year, having made an impressive showpiece for the PlayStation 3. According to PlayStation's Eurasian marketing manager, it will be making the jump to PlayStation 4 later this year as well.
A video from CNN Turk was posted on the Turkish gaming site Multiplayer, and then translated at IGN. According to the translation, Sony's Sercan Sulun gave a time frame and promised enhanced visuals.
"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4," he reportedly said. "Both on PSN and physically. The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well."
Sulun is a fairly high-level executive and has been with Sony since 2012, so he would be in a position to know of such a project. As long as the translation is accurate, it seems likely this news is true and we can look forward to Joel and Ellie trekking cross-country a more powerful machine. Shacknews has contacted Sony and will update as more information becomes available.
Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann previously commented on the idea of a PS4 port. "We have such limited resources, and it's a question of where you put the resources," he said. "It's something where we can have a feel of where the demand is, and where our time is best spent. It's something that we'll figure out as we move forward."
