DriveClub game director exits studio
DriveClub game director Col Rodgers has left Evolution Studios to create his own indie startup.
DriveClub's development continues hit a slew of potholes. Apparently, Sony taking the game 'back to the drawing board' also meant finding a new game director, because Col Rodgers and Evolution reportedly parted ways back in February.
Videogamer confirms Rodgers' departure from the studio. Rodgers has since gone on to create an indie development studio called Big Red Switch Games.
Yesterday was a rough one for Evolution Studios, as the developer suffered a number of layoffs, in what was called a "focused restructure." However, despite the layoffs and Rodgers' exit from the project, Sony remains adamant that DriveClub's development remains unaffected.
"The progress being made on the game is spectacular, so we're looking forward to sharing an update on development, release date and videos of the game in action in the weeks to come," a Sony spokesperson told Eurogamer. "We thank you for your patience and assure you, it will be worth the wait."
