Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare free DLC adds new mode & map
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is getting a "Garden Variety" pack tomorrow, which will add a new map, three ability upgrades per character class, and a mode that has zombies and plants working together.
In our review of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, we noted that "PopCap Games has succeeding in creating a pleasant and wildly enjoyable shooter that all ages can enjoy," even though it's short on maps and modes. That's being addressed in tomorrow's free "Garden Variety" pack, which will add a new mode, a new map, and some more upgrade options on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
The "Gnome Bomb" is an 8v8 mode in which the plant and zombie factions resolve their differences temporarily to bring down a reinforced garden or graveyard together. It also adds a new Chomp Town map, and new Pirate Zombies will show up in Sharkbite Shores and Port Scallywag. One such undead is the Map Pirate Zombie, who shields himself with (what else?) a treasure map.
You can get 24 new ability upgrades too--three for each class. The announcement highlights a few like the Sunflower Solar Flare Beam and the Chomper's Super Goop. Zombies get some new abilities too, of course, like the All-Star's Ultra Tackle.
