Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville coming next week
The Powerpuff Girls are getting another game next week: an action-adventure PC game titled Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville.
Sugar and spice and everything nice (plus Chemical X) will be getting another game, this time from indie house Radian Games. Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville is due out on PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam next week, on March 14. The action-adventure game from Radiangames takes cues from Metroid and Castlevania for the world exploration, and Defender for the shooting controls.
The announcement (via Joystiq) boasts melee and ranged combat, three difficulty levels, a harder second quest, and all three of the superpowered girls as played by their cartoon voice actresses. It also lets you swap between the modern art style and the classic Powerpuff Girls look.
It was actually nearly finished in January, according to Radiangames, and was meant to coincide with a Powerpuff Girls special. But Cartoon Network put it off, suggesting more time for polish and to add the classic visual mode in the initial release instead of as an update.
