Far Cry Classic launch trailer shows off console transition
Far Cry Classic has launched on consoles, and Ubisoft released a new launch trailer to show off the port.
Far Cry Classic has hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, giving console players their first chance to crack into the classic powerhouse of a PC game. Along with the release, Ubisoft has put out a new trailer showing off the graphical enhancements for the new versions.
As previously reported, the "Classic" re-release includes a few other bells and whistles as well: revamped cutscenes and a revised user interface, to be precise.

In the video it does say updated visuals. I don't think it looked that good, however it was a very good game graphically for it's time.

This shows Far Cry at max settings. One screenshot doesn't tell the whole story though.-

In 2004? You bet it was. In fact, I'd say that looks pretty good for a decade old.

agreed. those are graphics that i could enjoy today without it being distracting. some older games are just painful to look at, but far cry (and crysis, which is like seven years old) hold up.

Yup. I feel like Crysis kinda cheated a bit though by programming graphics settings that no card at the time could handle. The game itself may have come out in 2007, but the graphics cards to run it at the highest settings (at modern resolutions), took years to show up.

well even now, crysis 3 at absolute highest needs like a 780 ti at least...mainly due to massive MSAA. in fact that's the #1 reason why modern games have to be run one notch from the top - ridiculous levels of AA. rendering a scene at 4x the resolution then downsampling, etc. they know it's ludicrious. but it's an option. in 5 years stuff like tomb raider and crysis 3 will still look good due to that but for now the highest ubersampling / msaa settings are really just there for the future.

I love FarCry so much. I think the classic PC version still holds up very well. But I might just grab this for PS3 at $9.99, just because.

It really fell under the radar for me. I saw some posts in a forum or something about it and decided to grab it. Upon starting the game I was a bit turned off by the severe campyness but it didn't take me long to fall in love with the massive jungle and sweet sweet gunplay.
People often complained about laser-sighted mercs from 100s of yards away and tri-gens jumping the shark. But I fell hard for all of it and played it over and over, lol. So I am a little excited to try it on my PS3 in all honesty.
