Skullgirls Encore re-enters PS3 arena on February 11
With its publisher woes behind them, Skullgirls is ready to return to the console arena. Skullgirls Encore will hit PlayStation 3 on Tuesday, February 11, with the Xbox Live Arcade version to release shortly after.
Skullgirls is ready to make its return to PlayStation 3, following last year's complicated divorce with former publisher Konami. With MarvelousAQL now proudly carrying Lab Zero's old-timey-themed fighting game forward, Skullgirls Encore will do battle once again on February 11.
Skullgirls Encore will play closer to its PC counterpart and also feature its DLC character, the zombie opera singer Squigly. Because existing Skullgirls owners will need to download Encore as a whole separate game, Lab Zero hopes to soften the inconvenience by offering Squigly for free for the next three months.
Skullgirls Encore will also include a large patch upon release, which will add Typing of the Skullgirls and a slew of balance changes. The full patch notes can be found here. Skullgirls Encore will be available for $14.99 on PSN on Tuesday, with the Xbox Live Arcade version set to release soon after.

As a note, anyone with the original Skullgirls will be getting Encore for free. As far as MikeZ knows, once the PSN store updates on Tuesday you should get some sort of PSN message with a link for you to snag the new version.
Also, the plan was for Squigly to be free for three months regardless of the Konami situation. The forthcoming DLC characters will also have a three months free period upon release.
