Rumor: new Sonic game coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U
According to a new poster ad, SEGA is already working on a new Sonic game that will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Though Nintendo currently has an exclusivity agreement keeping Sonic the Hedgehog on its consoles, it seems Sega may have wider plans for the future. Sonic may be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the not-too-distant future, according to a poster that was spotted at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.
An image of the poster can be seen over at IGN. Currently, the deal that Sega signed with Nintendo last year to make the next three Sonic games Wii U and 3DS exclusives has only produced two games: the poorly received Sonic: Lost World and the mediocre party game
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. While this new PS4/Xbox One game could herald a premature end to Sega's and Nintendo's exclusivity partnership, it's more likely that the third game will be revealed and released sometime this year then the next-gen game would follow in 2015.
Aside from this new leaked game and whatever Sega and Nintendo supposedly have in store for 2014, Sonic will also be making a return in the upcoming Wii U and 3DS Super Smash Bros. game.
We have reached out to Sega for comment and will update you if we hear back.
Update: Sega has given a brief response to the rumors of a next-gen Sonic title, saying that the listing was "incorrect."
