Ultra Street Fighter 4 change log explains new mechanics
Capcom has issued a vast change log for Ultra Street Fighter 4, while helpfully explaining exactly how Red Focus and Ultra Combo Double will work.
Ultra Street Fighter 4 continues to change and evolve after each location test. After taking feedback from amateur and professional players alike, Capcom has issued a new change list, while also taking the time to further explain some of the game's new mechanics to the uninitiated.
Peter 'Combofiend' Rosas goes further into what Red Focus and Ultra Combo Double bring to the table. Players can perform Red Focus by simultaneously pressing light punch, medium punch, and middle kick with two meters (three meters for EX) to absorb an infinite number of attacks. Absorbing attacks will help build the Ultra meter at double speed, while unleashing the Red Focus attack dishes out 1.5 times more damage to opponents. EX Red Focus will have the added benefit of granting armor effects.
Ultra Combo Double, as previously stated, allows fighters to use both Ultra combos in one match. Capcom has now clarified that dealing out Ultra Combos with Ultra Combo Double enabled will dish out 75% of their normal damage for all characters, except Zangief, Cammy, Fei Long, T.Hawk, Makoto, Hakan, Dhalsim, Rose, Akuma, E.Honda, and Hugo, who will deal 60% damage.
