Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day is Suda51's next, developed by Tokyo Jungle dev
Suda51 is working with Tokyo Jungle dev Crispy's on a new anime-packed action game as part of Katsuhiro Otomo's transmedia Short Piece.
Short Piece is a new five-part anime compilation featuring short films by Katsuhiro Otomo, best known for his work on Akira. The first four parts of Short Piece are traditional animated films. The fifth, however, is a video game directed by Goichi Suda--aka Suda51.
Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day is a 2D side-scrolling action game developed by Crispy's, the same team behind Tokyo Jungle. And because the game is part of a transmedia anime experience, it'll incorporate lots of animation alongside its psychedelic visuals.
"By day, Ranko Tsukigime is an average high school girl who lives alone, but at night she is a deadly hitman who deftly assassinates her targets," Bandai Namco's press release reads. "One fateful night as Ranko heads out to eliminate her next target, a demonic enemy organization creeps up and threatens the lives of Ranko and her friends. Players will put their reflexes and quick judgment to the test in the fast-paced platforming gameplay that will have them blazing through dangerous, obstacle-ridden environments to flee from an ominous enemy looming close behind."
The game is coming to PS3 in spring 2014. Check out a trailer for the entire Short Piece collection here:
