Every Thursday, Nintendo offers new digital content for Wii U and 3DS through its eShop. This week's highlights include a new Virtual Console release on each platform: Mighty Bomb Jack (Wii U) and Life Force (3DS).

Wii U

  • Mighty Bomb Jack (NES Virtual Console) - The classic game has you assuming the role of "Jack" as you try and rescue the royal Pamera family from the clutches of the demon Belzebut. Old-school platforming meets item collecting, but not too much collecting because the torture room awaits those who get too greedy.

  • The trial version of Wii Fit U is free for only one more week. You can upgrade to the full version by buying a Fit Meter. Read more info on this promo here.

3DS

  • Life Force (NES Virtual Console) - Switch between vertical and horizontal side scrolling while you try to save the galaxy. You'll be able to upgrade your ship with power-ups you grab along the way and if going it alone is too tough, you can invite a friend to help out. You're the galaxy's only hope against Zelos!

  • Shin Megami Tensei 4 is $29 until February 3rd.

  • Fractured Soul is $6 until February 6th.

This is painful to watch. Where are the N64 games for Wii U? Why not release hit after hit of games we want on the virtual console? Nintendo, you got years worth of hits where you can release them weekly: Link to the Past, Starfox, Starfox 64, etc. etc.

Shin Megami Tensei 4 is taking forever to arrive to Europe. All the while in the mean time USA has had a ton of Atlus games on discount already.
