The Last of Us will soon be getting a new single-player campaign with "Left Behind," a prequel tale that goes over the events of the American Dreams comic. The adventure will introduce Riley, Ellie's best friend before she encounters Joel. In a new cinematic video, you'll get a glimpse of how the two interact with one another.
In an interview on the PlayStation.Blog, Ashley Johnson, voice actress of Ellie, explained that the DLC will show "a more playful side" to the character. "It's a little bit more 'fun,' because you have two teenage girls going through a mall. It's kind of like a post-pandemic version of two teenage girls hanging out. Definitely not a normal hangout! It's very different--a little more playful."
The DLC will be available in spring.

I'm definitely surprised that it took ND so long to put out single-player DLC. They should have struck while the iron was hot and put out two campaigns last year; one in the fall, one around Christmas.
It's too bad. I think there's so much more worth exploring in the TLoU universe, yet it's not a game I'd want a sequel to. DLC seemed their best bet, but as you said, that train has left the station.
