Elder Scrolls Online's Emperor gets exclusive skills
Elder Scrolls Online game director Paul Sage explains how to gain Emperor status, and just what benefits it will net you.
The Elder Scrolls Online has some unique ideas, including the opportunity to be declared Emperor of Cyrodiil. In an interview, game director Paul Sage explained some of the responsibilities and benefits of rising the ranks to become the supreme ruler.
"Players who become Emperor will get a full skill line that they keep throughout the rest of their lives in The Elder Scrolls Online," Sage told OXM. "It won't be easy to become Emperor, but we think people will be glad they worked for it." However, if you lose your Emperor title, the special skills won't be quite as effective, so you'll have to make the best use you can while you hold the title.
So how do you gain the Imperial mark in the first place? Take on a lot of PvP. You'll earn Alliance Points for killing other players, healing your allies, and taking keeps. If your Alliance takes charge of all the keeps, and you happen to be the player in that alliance with the most points, you're the new Emperor. Along with your own skills, you'll get bonuses for your teammates, on top of the alliance-wide bonuses you'd have gained from taking keeps.

I wonder how many people read about this and are actually planning on trying to become an Emperor in this game. Whenever I read about stuff like this my furthest ambition is just one day seeing an Emperor Character in-game, or maybe at best being a small cog in the process that gets someone on the throne.
I wonder what that says about me. -
