Republique has officially hit the end of the road, going from Kickstarter project to full-blown release. The debut project from Camoflaj Games (founded by Halo 4 creative director Ryan Payton) will release on iOS this Thursday, December 19 as the first of four episodic installments.

Republique's story follows a young captive named Hope, but players will actually control a series of hacked security cameras, in order to help her escape. The game will also feature the voice talents of Mass Effect's Jennifer Hale and former Solid Snake, David Hayter.

According to VentureBeat, each episode will be available for $5 from the App Store, with Kickstarter backers receiving all four episodes for their $10 donations. The full season (as well as early access to the second episode) will also be available for $15.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Congrats to these guys for getting this done! I backed this project and I've been listening to the development podcasts which get into extreme detail about the development process. It was really fascinating and you can tell by listening to it, these guys really kicked their asses to make this as good as possible. I can't wait to try it out.
