Dead Rising 3 story trailer is a bloody mess

A new story trailer for Dead Rising 3 shows why Nick Ramos needs to fight his way out of Fortune City.

Dead Rising 3 is due out for the Xbox One launch, and from the looks of a new story trailer, it's attempting to fulfill the system's blood quota all by itself. We get some more insight to exactly why new protagonist Nick Ramos is cutting a path through Fortune City, interspersed with buckets of viscera.

Apparently poor Nick just wants to get out of the city with his friends, but a ton of the undead and no small number of psychotic living standing in the way.

I've avoided Dead Rising in the past because I just couldn't past all the wackiness. Is this game actually more serious or is the wackiness just hidden in this trailer? For some reason every time I picture Dead Rising I imagine that the main character is dressed in some ridiculous costume with a silly weapon.

i think there are hints of the wackiness, but it doesn't seem to be as over the top this time around. i agree with you, though... i don't need my dude to be running around in a schoolgirl uniform with a stuffed teddy bear head killing zombies with a foam finger or whatever the fuck they do.

massive lego head + lawnmower blade while dressed in pink daisy dukes and pasties was my favorite.

The fun is in the wackiness. Both games you have objectives so if you are serious about the story you mostly just make due with a few weapons and mostly just run through the zombies to get between areas

The whole point of DR is the wackiness. It's not going to change.

Fair enough. I guess it just isn't my cup of tea then.
