Japanese developer Cygames announced a mobile RPG today, with some notable talent from the Final Fantasy series. "Granblue Fantasy" will feature the work of FF composer Nobuo Uematsu and character designer Hideo Minaba. The studio hopes to make it a "blockbuster" RPG, while still aiming for the free-to-play mobile market.

According to the official site (via Polygon), you'll build a traditional four-character party and take part in turn-based combat. It will also use a job class system and let you summon creatures to fight for you, similar to some Final Fantasy games. It will be free-to-play, but the listing hints at in-app purchases.

No North American plans have been announced, but with that pedigree, you never know. Check out the largely animated debut trailer below.

I'm pretty sure they said ex-Final Fantasy talent not ex-Working Designs talent.
