As promised, the Dark Souls 2 beta has launched. In order to access it, you must be one of the first 90,000 people to enter this code into the PlayStation Store: 38QQ-8DNE-97AA
We had a chance to check out the beta at Tokyo Game Show and wrote up exactly what you can expect. It'll include about 90 minutes of gameplay, and will let you check out many of the sequel's new features.
If you're not near a PS3 right now, you can redeem the code through the Sony Entertainment Network website here. Good luck!
Dark Souls 2 will be out on PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 11, with a PC version to follow shortly thereafter.

i didn't mind the intro QTE much though..like i died twice, but after respawning (at the auto checkpoint right before the boss), i nailed the sequence and he just died instantly. and he dropped this insane armor that basically makes the rest of the beta a breeze! also i was playing on Normal, not Easy or Casual.
