Microsoft's Games with Gold program was supposed to run through the end of the year. However, Xbox 360 owners will now be able to enjoy two free games per month indefinitely. It is now an "ongoing benefit for Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360."

Xbox Live Gold members can download free games on the 1st and 15th of every month. The service is currently offering Halo 3 for members. Unlike PlayStation Plus, these games will remain accessible even after a Gold subscription ends. However, the free games program is limited to Xbox 360 only. PlayStation offers its Instant Game Collection across four platforms: PS3, PS4, PSP, and Vita.
