Guild Wars 2's Blood and Madness update introduces the Bloody Prince
Guild Wars 2's Blood and Madness update kicks off on Tuesday, introducing a new member of the Mad King Thorn's family. It also marks the beginning of the first World v. World season.
When the bell tolls in Tyria, that normally means the Mad King Thorn is about to make his annual visit to Guild Wars 2. But unlike last year, the insane monarch isn't making the trip. This year, players will be haunted by his equally-unpleasant offspring named Bloody Prince Edrick, as part of the Blood and Madness update.
The Blood and Madness update will see the return of the Mad King's Labyrinth, filled with undead creatures controlled by the Bloody Prince. New bosses will include the Skeletal Lich, the Grand High Viscount of Candy Corn (who's attitude is as bad as his taste), and the Labyrinthine Horror. The Mad King's Clocktower will also return from last year, bringing its popular jumping puzzles along with it.
On top of the normal balance updates, this update will also kick off Guild Wars 2's inaugural World versus World season, in which the regions are split into leagues to compete against one another until December 5.
The Blood and Madness update kicks off on Tuesday, October 15. Check out the trailer below for a taste of this year's Halloween festivities.

I was mainly disappointed that they destroyed the trading card like skill system of the first game. The first game was almost always played as 4-8 man co-op. You could play through PvE with AI henchmen, but it was always an inferior option. Guild Wars 2 was designed so that you could play solo or co-op, and the result is that everyone plays solo. Co-op only happens with the little world events, which are basically just 40 people spamming skills on a monster. It's really tedious.

The lead up to leagues starting has been interesting to watch. WvW matches that have actually mattered. Maguuma is still having fun but we need to get Gold League so please help us violate their game mode.
