We're quite enamored with the updated Dashboard coming to Xbox One. One of the best new features of the updated Xbox Live experience is the updated Friends app. Taking cues from other social networks, it adds new social features that, simply put, make sense. For example, you'll be able to follow Xbox Users Twitter-style, without them having to follow you back. You'll then be able to see all their updates on Xbox Live. You can also have up to 1,000 friends. And, if you do manage to take advantage of that feature, you'll be able to select "favorites"--people you want to pay attention to the most on Live.
It's rather straightforward, and like we've pointed out--it makes sense. But in case you need Major Nelson's soothing voice to walk you through the experience, the video is after the break.

Love the favorites list. I have a close group of about 6 friends and with the friends list expanding to 1000 it'll be handy to have them in one spot.

It is interesting how much Microsoft has worked to keep Xbone in the news. These little updates have been trickling in all the while and so little new information is coming out about the PS4. Maybe there is nothing else to say about the PS4 and maybe they know they should leave the good vibe and hold off on hype until the last second so as not to sour the halo they have now.
But I wonder if it is a mistake to let MS be the only one in the news some weeks.-
I don't know. IMO I don't think Sony needs to really say much more. They did a kickass job at E3, have a nice wave of momentum and allot of folks are excited about PS4. I'm definitely going to pick one up this time where I passed on the PS3 last time. I'll probably grab a xbone sometime down the line. MS on the other hand has to work pretty hard to make up for their terrible PR work trying to sell folks on the xbone.

I feel like I still know very little about the PS4 UX compared to the Xbox One. I saw that like 2 minute video at a sideways angle from some conference demo (TGS?) but otherwise I haven't gotten a feel for what it'll actually be like to use the console. Where as for the Xbox One between the 360 and what's been shown (which obviously has included plenty of UI navigating) I have a good feel for how I'll be interfacing with friends, content purchasing, etc.
