Xbox Fitness subscription service planned for Xbox One

Kinect for Xbox 360 found success by appealing to the fitness crowd. Microsoft hopes to capture that magic once again with Xbox One, this time with a subscription-based service.

Using the next-generation Kinect, Xbox Fitness will let players train with Jillian Michaels, Tracy Michael, P90X, Insanity, and more. The new Kinect promises features like "Muscle Mapping, Power Gauge, and Pulse."

According to (now removed) Xbox.com page discovered by NeoGAF, Xbox Fitness will require a separate subscription in addition to an Xbox Live Gold membership. However, Microsoft is planning a free trial period. Gold members will be able to get "unlimited access" to Xbox Fitness until November 2014. How much it will cost after the trial period is over was not discovered.

      It would have been cool if it sensed that your form was incorrect. Too many people hurt themselves exercising with incorrect form.

      I know Tony Horton (guy in the photo) mentioned he wanted to bring new programs to some sort of streaming service, to get away from mail-ordered DVD's and Blu-rays. I hope that entails more than just "Xbox Fitness". I really like his P90X2 program but I'm definitely not picking up an Xbox anytime soon.

      I enjoyed the Kinect fitness stuff, but I definitely wouldn't pay a subscription for it *ESPECIALLY NOT* on top on an Xbox Live Subscription...
