Pokemon Origins anime to retell story of Pokemon Red & Blue
A new four-part anime series will follow the story of Red. He'll pick a Charizard from Professor Oak and go on a journey across Kanto, as he fights Team Rocket, challenges his rival, and ultimately conquers the Pokemon League.
It's been fifteen years since Pokemon Red & Blue launched one of the biggest transmedia phenomenons ever. To commemorate the occasion, The Pokemon Company is releasing a new anime series via their Pokemon TV app called Pokemon Origins.
The four-part series will debut on November 15th and will follow the story of Red. He'll pick a Charmander from Professor Oak and go on a journey across Kanto, as he fights Team Rocket, challenges his rival, and ultimately conquers the Pokemon League.

I think it's notable that it's an actual adaptation of the game.
Also, it's 15 years since Red & Blue. WE ARE ALL SO OLD. -

I don't remember Red picking a Charizard. A Charmander, yes. Which is interesting. They show the Charizard in the trailer, which means his Charmander will evolve to that point by the end of the mini series, which seems really quick for 4 episodes.
