Space Engineers is a sandbox space engineering game
"A bit like Minecraft In Space," one might crudely describe a fair few games. You can add Space Engineers to that list, perhaps slapping "but a bit more realistic and technical" on the end of your description. Miner Wars 2081 developer Keen Software House today announced the sandbox build 'em up, which will have you designing, building, and maintaining space stuff.

Imagine space mining. Imagine space ships. Imagine space stations. Imagine space military. Imagine spending space hours building a huge ship then ploughing it into your chum's battlecruiser to space destroy them both in a beautiful space shower of space debris. Space!
The game is "inspired by reality and by how things work," Keen said. "Think about modern-day NASA technology extrapolated 60 years into the future. Space Engineers strives to follow the laws of physics and doesn't use technologies that wouldn't be feasible in the near future."
Space Engineers is due an alpha release through Steam Early Access "soon." Hit the official website for more on the game.
