"First of all, it's going to be 60 frames per second," director Hideo Kojima explained at a preview event last night. "The resolution of textures, there will be a great improvement there. We're going to have a lot more lights, a lot more shadows, so it's going to look a lot more realistic."
One thing that won't change with the next-gen is gameplay. "You won't see a great difference in the gameplay," Kojima explained, pointing out that "we're not going to throw a bunch of NPCs and enemies."
Kojima Productions plans on showing off the next-gen version of the game at Tokyo Game Show. In addition, the difficulty will be tuned higher, hopefully alleviating some of the concerns from our recent preview.
