Glad to see that Kojima is streamlining the mechanics to make the stealth gameplay more fluid. Remember in Snake Eater how you could sneak with the analog stick, but to sneak SILENTLY you had to use the D-pad? Or how you had to spend time switching camouflage, or dealing with the game's super-fussy intrusion mode? I love many things about the MGS franchise, but it's been an excruciatingly slow march to change with the franchise and Splinter Cell was well ahead of the game in terms of stealth mechanics long ago. I see this as less watering down MGS and more refining and simplifying the more awkward elements so it can stand head and shoulders among its contemporaries.
