Lego Minifigures Online is next Lego's next MMO, coming 2014
Secret World developer Funcom has announced Lego Minifigures Online, a free-to-play MMO coming next year that ties into the minifigure toy sets.
Lego Universe may have broken down like so many discarded building blocks, but a new Lego MMO is on the way. The Secret World developer Funcom has announced Lego Minifigures Online, a free-to-play game targeting PC, browsers, iOS and Android devices next year.
A teaser-trailer shows off a variety of mini-figs, each with their own character abilities. The full game will boast almost 100 characters in all, and the player will be able to assemble their own three-member team and switch between them at will. Lego plans to expand its mini-fig toy line to include all of the in-game characters, and buying one of the toys will grant you a code to unlock the character in-game. A Funcom rep told Polygon that it will also make use of child-safety systems, similar to Lego Universe.
