Ubisoft has announced Panzer General Online, a free-to-play, browser-based strategy game. It takes a cue from trading card games, letting you collect (virtual) miniatures of units to create your army.
Like the other Panzer General games, you'll command a variety of infantry, tanks, and planes in historical battles. It promises both single- and multiplayer modes, with the single-player campaign acting as a tutorial for your battles against human players. It's being developed by Ubisoft's Blue Byte studio, and release details are still unannounced.
"We are happy to celebrate our 25th studio anniversary with the announcement of a new entry in the beloved Panzer General franchise," said Blue Byte managing director Odile Limpach, in the announcement. "Panzer General Online is a game where tactical skill beats the luck of the draw, and will appeal to novice and expert strategy fans alike."
