Thief sneaking out on February 25, 2014
So much have I longed to see the new Thief that I've turned to petty larceny to get my thrills--a bag of humbugs here, a Walkman there--and it's escalating. Thankfully Eidos Montreal's of the first-person sneaker series will arrive before I can get into too much trouble, as publisher Square Enix today announced it's launching on February 25, 2014.

Thief modernises the PC series a bit, but still looks like a jolly good sneaker. Remember how surprised you were by Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you little cynics. It's hitting PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
Though Eidos Montreal general manager Stephane D'Astous left recently over complaints about parent company Squeenix and its "lack of leadership, lack of courage," even he's looking forward to it. "That is one of my biggest regrets, not to be at the head of the studio that would deliver Thief," he said.
Head this-a-way if you want to see actual gameplay, but here's a shiny new trailer whipped together to celebrate Gamescom and the release date announcement:
